    This volume marks ten years since the first edition of the International Conference Polyphonic Discourse in Romanian as a Foreign Language (RLS), bringing together the proceedings of the fifth edition organized by Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. Totaling nearly 500 pages and 33 articles, the work reflects the maturity and expansion of an increasingly dynamic professional community.

    The volume brings together researchers from prestigious universities and institutes in Romania and abroad (France, Spain, Italy, the Republic of Moldova), outlining the current institutional framework of the field. Thematically, the contributions combine theoretical rigor with practical classroom application. Special attention is given to new technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in teaching, promoting a balanced approach to the digital era. Additionally, classic domains - grammar, vocabulary, linguistic mediation, intercultural competence - are addressed alongside interdisciplinary connections with psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, and translation studies.

    Through its diversity of perspectives and the collaboration between established researchers and young PhD candidates, the volume serves as an essential space for dialogue. It offers concrete solutions and inspiration for teachers, translators, and material designers, facilitating the acquisition of the Romanian language by non-native speakers and its preservation in the diaspora.

    This volume gathers 21 scientific studies presented at the third edition of the International Conference Polyphonic Discourse in Romanian as a Foreign Language (RLS), organized online by the Institute of the Romanian Language as a European Language. The publication continues the series of specialized works dedicated to the field of RLS, strengthening both academic literature and practical teaching and training methodologies.
    The volume's thematic structure is exceptionally diverse, covering essential directions in language pedagogy and linguistic research. The studies address teaching methodology, the role of learner attitudes, the use of language corpora, and specialized language instruction through audiovisual resources. A valuable component includes retrospective studies highlighting lesser-known linguistic figures and historical works, as well as research focused on lexicology, grammar, phonological skills, electronic dictionaries, and innovative textbooks.
    Furthermore, significant attention is dedicated to cultural dimensions, intercultural and translation perspectives, as well as emerging areas such as teaching Romanian to the Hungarian minority or advanced theoretical analyses on language acquisition (L1 and L2). Overall, the volume delivers a comprehensive and up-to-date overview, serving as an essential resource for specialists, educators, and researchers.

    The volume "Polyphonic Discourse in Romanian as a Foreign Language" emerges, as a whole, as a multifaceted work—reflecting through its very title the idea of a multiplicity of voices, perspectives, and methods.

    It is a heterogeneous yet coherent volume: it brings together nuanced grammatical studies alongside broad cultural analyses, laboratory research (standardized testing) alongside theoretical reflections on translation and linguistic identity. The contributions stem from a wide geographical scope, giving the work a visibly international and comparative dimension.

    At the same time, the volume remains deeply applied: most of the studies originate from concrete classroom teaching experience and return to it, offering tools, methods, and case studies useful to teachers of Romanian as a foreign language.

    Overall, it is a volume of transition and consolidation that documents the maturation of a field (RFL) still in the process of institutional and methodological definition, yet already capable of academic rigor and international dialogue.
